		<description>A much better software on Linux for hardware debugging is cutecom (http://cutecom.sourceforge.net/). Its much more usable than normal terminal programs. I believe there is a ubuntu package( http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/comm/cutecom) of the QT3 version. I did manage to compile the newer version on Debian though.

There is an equivalent on Windows called Bray++ (http://bray.velenje.cx/avr/terminal/), which is actually much better than hyperterminal or anything else actually. Although it is very difficult to find it, as the site is normally down :(</description>
